Why some plans are by invitation

What a capacity limit is for, how an invitation actually comes about, and why waiting for one costs you nothing.

The deeper programmes are not simply on sale. They are capacity-limited, and a place in one follows from having a paper evaluated first. That sounds like a sales device, so it is worth setting out what it actually is.

What the limit is protecting

An evaluation is a person reading a child's handwriting closely enough to say where the marks went and why. That work does not compress. Twice as many scripts in the same week is not twice the output - it is the same output, read less carefully, which is the one failure that makes the whole thing worthless.

So the number of students in the fuller programmes is held to what the evaluators can actually read properly. The limit is on us, not on you.

How an invitation comes about

  • You start with a single Mock - the three plans compared sets out what that includes.
  • It is evaluated and comes back to you, in full, with the mark-loss broken down.
  • From there, an invitation to the fuller tiers follows.

Note the order. You see our work before you are asked to commit to more of it - not the other way round. A programme sold before a parent has seen a single evaluated script is asking for trust it has not yet earned.

What it is not

  • Not a countdown. Nothing here expires, and no page on this site will tell you that a place is about to go.
  • Not a status tier. An invitation is about how much evaluation capacity exists, not about what kind of family you are.
  • Not a condition of using the site. The paper library, the analyses and this knowledge base are free and open to everybody, invitation or no invitation.

And waiting costs nothing. A child preparing with free past papers while a place comes up is not falling behind - that is most of what preparation is, and it is the part we give away.
