How long it takes, and what re-evaluation means

The turnaround we commit to - and why the board's re-evaluation is a different thing with a deadline attached.

An hourglass and an ornate clock on a dark table

A standard evaluated report is delivered within 48 hours. The largest plan carries a priority turnaround for full pre-board cycles, which matters when a whole set of papers is being marked at once rather than a single script.

That is the commitment, stated plainly and without decoration. We are not going to tell you it is usually much faster, or quote you an average - a number we do not yet measure publicly is not a number you should plan around.

Why it is not instant

Because a person reads the script. The value of the report is that someone followed the working line by line and could say which marks were within reach - and that work takes the time it takes. Halving it by reading less carefully would remove the only reason the report is worth having.

Two different things called re-evaluation

This is the part worth getting straight, because confusing them can cost a real deadline.

  • CBSE's re-evaluation is a formal post-result facility with a fee, a short application window and a binding outcome - and the window closes quickly after results. Photocopy, verification and re-evaluation sets out what each one is and what it can actually change.
  • Asking us to look again at a mock is not that. It has no fee, no deadline and no effect whatsoever on a board result - it is a conversation about our marking of a practice paper.

If your child's board result is the thing in question, the board's clock is the one that matters and it is short. Start with their process, not with us.

If a report is late

Tell us. A late report is a thing we would rather hear about than have you wait politely through - and it is more useful to us than a reassuring silence.
