Photocopy of answer sheet
A photocopy of the answer sheet is a scanned copy of your child's marked board paper, showing the marks given for each answer.
CBSE calls it a scanned copy of the evaluated answer book. It shows how each answer was marked, step by step. Since 2025 it comes first, before any other check. In 2026, only students who had the copy could then ask for verification of marks or re-evaluation.
How to get one in CBSE Class 10
- It opens only after the second board exam's results, for both exams together.
- Apply online in the window CBSE sets. Late or offline requests are not accepted.
- In 2026 the fee was Rs 300 per subject, paid online.
- The copy appears in your child's own login. Details that show who the examiner was are hidden.
- For a subject sat in both exams, you can ask for either answer book, or both.
A small example
Say your child got 52 in Maths. The copy shows the marks in the margin of each answer. You can set them beside the marking scheme and see, answer by answer, which steps got no marks. Then you decide whether any check is worth asking for.
The steps are in CBSE's notice of 5 August 2026. How to get a photocopy of your CBSE answer sheet covers what comes next.
ICSE is different. CISCE's regulations for the 2028 exam do not let candidates see answer scripts or copies of them. Its checks are a recheck and then re-evaluation.
